Task 4

We will be looking at your revival to see if it passes the standards of these three tests:

Bechdel-Wallace Test

This tests whether or not you have representation of women in your musical revival

Duvernay Test

this tests whether or not "African-Americans and other minorities have fully realized lives rather than serve as scenery in white stories."

Vito-Russo (GLAAD) Test

Take the test here.

After you "test" your revival, you will try to make the necessary updates to include a better representation of women, diversity, and gender/sexuality in your revival.

Broadway Marketing & Posters

While you are working on finding more ways to include representation of all people in your revival, you will also be learning about Broadway marketing and poster art.

Read article: Broadway Marketing Agencies

We will be speaking with a Broadway graphic designer to create a creative brief for your revival so that they can help you build your very own poster and branding for your musical that showcases your updated concept, vision and focus of your revival.

It's time to put your revival to the test and really see how marketable and accessible it is for the audiences of 2020.
